Literally the only thing I like after playing it is art and that is it. Game encourages you to use controller, but even inventoring is horrible with it. Controls are clunky as it an only get. For some reason you don't have dash/roll ability (I guess unlocked further into the game), so if you get pushed by enemy into a wall you need to jump over it and hope you don't go through some part of enemie's hitbox, because for some reason that damages you even if they don't swing at you???!! Perhaps it would be fun if I got block/parry and dash unlocked, but NoTlikeThis. I don't almost ever refund games, but this was such a let down that I simply had to. Do yourself a favor and go play Dead Cells, Salt and Sanctuary, Wizard of Legends or Orin and the blind forest, but not this garbo. SHAME SHAME SHAME. Heh, if you like to play as a robot in the middle ages, you should give it a try :D. No a bad game but not a great game too. It would be better if developers have a designer in the team because I have a feeling that some features are missing that would make this game much better. Developers said that they are working on some of them and we will see. I can say that developers were inspired by a similar game which I cannot remember the name... It was 2D Dark Souls game with insects as characters.. Really dissapointed. The game is one of the plainest plattformers in a long time. I realize that this critique will be hit rather hard, because its the kind of game where you say something like "fighting is bad" and people will just scream "thats because youre bad at it". And maybe I am. But I did play my Dark Souls and my Salt and Sanctuary and never felt like this. This isnt hard because of a stylistic reason, not even a gameplay reason, but to hide its flaws. You have one attack button even though you are constantly fighting and enemies respawn once you leave the (small) room youre in. You can see that in the trailer up there where even in the "epic fights" they chose to show all they ever do is "attack" and "strafe". If you die, your consumables like health potions DONT refill but you need to do with what you didnt spend before (even though the enemies are respawned.) This is always super-fun but especially before "boss-fights" (which aren't bossfights but just waves of enemies in a closed-off small arena) where you need to run across the map every 2nd time you died because you need to buy new healing stuff.Jumping (the main part of any platformer) feels like a chore. Again the trailer up there proves this because they decided not to insert a SINGLE platform jumping part in the trailer for a platformer! The jumps aren't fluid as when you stop pressing the jump button you dont fly in an arch but in a triangle ^ . Also you need a moment after every jump to recuperate which makes the "tricky" parts tricky because youre fighting the controls. When you need to go down theres often enemies at the bottom but because you cant zoom/scroll you just dont know. The only way to know is by either having been there before and knowing or by jumping, eating the dmg and then making decisions.Upgrades are uninspired. Your first "level up" you literally need to chose between "attack slightly more often" "attack slightly stronger" or "take slightly less dmg". Again to the trailer up there you can see this when you see the upgrades it has two options "add some armor" and "a slightly better cooling system" The same goes for armor and weapon upgrades, except they are even worse because you will find 5 equal swords in different combinations (attack a bit faster and do a bit more dmg, do more dmg and take less stamina, attack faster and take less stamina a.s.o.)The game also tries to get both its gameplay and its story across (after the very talky intro) without any talking/explanation. This means you have to figure out gameplay by yourself and you have to figure out the story by yourself. Now I stopped dead bored 2 1/2 hours in but in that timeframe literally NO story happened. Not that I didnt get it, but the game didnt TRY to have a story. Like not even attempted. I asked my friend (unreliable source yadi-ya) and he stated that 7 hours in which he was, there still wasnt any story at all. Hell the only "story" so far was from the intro where it explained that you used to be a farmer, which is a really weird profession to be in a ROBOT universe. Then again maybe you were farming for the fish in your head? But if youre being guided by a sentient living biological creature are you even a robot as the game keeps refering to you or arent you really a cyborg or an exosuit or something? In fact I could ask dozens of questions about the main PREMISE of the game without any possible answer but a game with an 8 hour runtime that hasnt even tried to story in 2.5 hours cant really be asked to answer any of that. The music is nice for a few minutes. Maybe that changes at the half-way mark but so far i could only hear one medieval track and while that was nice, typical, medieval background music, it wasnt anything that makes you go WOW and definately nothing you want to hear on loop for hours! All in all this is the first game where I requested a refund after 2.5 hours. I didnt stop at 2 hours because I REALLY wanted to see the second bossfight cause i didnt wanna be unfair to the game, but when that was just as dissapointing as the first, I couldnt handle it any more. Except for its lovely graphics the game has NO redeeming feature.. Feudal Alloy is a nice looking and fun action platform. It deserves more attention.. Bought this game looking for something different. Game exceeded my expectations. The art style is unique and fun. The gameplay at first wasn't my favorate but it got better. Once I opened up more abilities the game really expanded. This game has been engaging and promising. I'm usually not a fan of most indie games but this one caught my heart. I plan on investing my time into the completion of this game and hope for more content in the future. Great Job Attu, you guys made a great game!. 10x times worse then Hollow Knight, not as smooth as Dead Cells, not close to Ori.I would put this game in same basket as Chasm(maybe Chasm is slightly better-longer).Full review in the link below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXlvXpSM2yA. This game is so fun. I can't believe it was made by 2 people.. I've been playing this foa few days now, and while there is fundamentally some good game play to be had moment-to-moment, the overall experience is spoiled by some poor design decisions. For example, I had pots of cash but very little to spend it on, so getting a 'reward' of more cash from a hard to find chest was a letdown. It's frankly bizarre that you can't check the stats of the gear you have equipped: the only way you can read its description is to unequip it.There is a lot of grinding, and I mean a lot: when it reaches a point where you can't progress because of a particularly tough arena fight, you will go over the same old rooms time and time again, slowly collecting the scrap you need to get the next upgrade... shame the one you want is the next step up on the skill tree though, so be prepared to grin all over again! The map and the overall level layout is unhelpful: it's not always clear where the exits are from a room and some corridors aren't shown at all. There were times when I'd get past one obstacle barring progress only to find another obstacle right behind it that I couldn't get past without the right module installed. Back I go again...It also needs much more in-game explanation of the basics: when I reached the shop, I bought bombs thinking "Great! Now I can blow stuff up!" Except I couldn't and honestly thought this was a bug, until I discovered the 'Bomb Throwing Module' further on. In fact, the shop in general doesn't feel like much use: bombs are weak, you can't use oil in desperate moments and the gear has a negligible effect on your armour, damage and so on.But... the game looks pretty, the music is a nice touch and the basics of a platform game are in there and reasonably well executed: the downsides to the game feel less like sloppy work and more like bad decisions in the design process. Might be worth waiting for this come on sale before you try it for yourself.. A beautiful game with lots of promise.Sadly, it doesn't feel like it has much depth, the combat is a little bit funky and the levels get very same-y after a while. Not to mention the repeating background music loses its charm after a few minutes.I have high hopes that the devs continue to work and adjust to improve the game in some ways. Feedback is always important and I can see this being ana amazing experience with a few tweaks and changes. Feudal Alloy is out now!: Hi everyone,This is it!
